Your vote in this election is more critical than ever as the polls show John McCain and Governor Palin in a virtual tie. Voting early by absentee ballot or in person is the best way to get your vote counted now and avoid the long lines on Election Day.

Voting Early by Mail

To vote absentee by mail you must apply for a ballot with your local circuit court clerk (or in Lake and Tippecanoe Counties, the boards of elections and registration).

You may apply for an absentee ballot beginning August 6. The deadline for receiving the application is Monday, October 27, 2008 by midnight (other than a voter who: (1) is a confined voter or a voter caring for a confined person; and (2) requests that the absentee ballots be delivered to the applicant by an absentee voter board).
