Amber Child Abduction Alert was canceled this morning A'dryn Allen Drummond

An Amber Child Abduction Alert was canceled this morning for an 18-month-old boy reportedly taken by his father in Williamsport, Lycoming County, yesterday afternoon.

The state issued the alert for A'dryn Allen Drummond on behalf of the Williamsport Police Department.

The boy was reportedly taken by his father Johnnie Alexander Drummond III, 27, a drug convict who has been wanted since August for failing to return to the Wernersville Community Corrections Center in South Heidelberg Township.

He and the boy were last seen in a black Mercury Mariner on Route 973 in Lycoming County. Police said the father was considered armed and dangerous, and he had reportedly beaten the boy's mother before fleeing.

The Amber Alert cancellation does not include details about how the boy was located or if he was with the father when found.

The Rink: Southside Chicago Classic Roller Rink - Leshock Value

The Rink: Southside Chicago Classic Roller Rink - Leshock Value: "So says The Rink's general manager and owner Nate Simpson. For 34 years, he's run the south side roller rink on 87th street (it moved there from its original location nearby in 1985). Every time the business is open, locals are lined up to get inside and hit the floor.

'We've got people from all walks of life,' Simpson told me about the clientele who frequent the spot. 'We've got a couple of doctors I know that do skate. We have several teachers. We have unemployed people. We have retired people. Just about anybody you can think of comes up here.'

On Sunday nights, The Rink features 'J.B.' style skating. It's a freestyle format to the music of James Brown and other funk classics. You'll see aficionados racing around the floor pulling splits and doing back flips.

The tough economy has hit The Rink, even though there were at least a few hundred people in the doors last night, I felt it was a lesser crowd from the time I visited a few years ago. But Nate vows to keep the fun affordable. It costs just $8 to get in the door on Sundays, that gets you three and a half hours of roller madness."

Facebook Poking Lands Lady in Jail

Facebook Poking Lands Lady in Jail: "Since that latter function's inception, we've been waiting for someone to get in trouble for poking people on Facebook -- and not just because we're juvenile and enjoy the double entendre. Finally we got our wish. The Tennessean is reporting that a Hendersonville, Tennessee woman, Shannon D. Jackson, was arrested for 'poking' an unidentified woman and, in doing so, violating a court order that prohibits Jackson from 'telephoning, contacting or otherwise communicating with the petitioner.'"

Analysis: 'Blackface Jacksons' embarrassing to Australia - CNN.com

Analysis: 'Blackface Jacksons' embarrassing to Australia - CNN.com: "That the cause of the furor is a childish, inappropriate racial 'joke' is even less of a surprise. Australian popular culture has a long held an often embarrassing tradition of wrapping racism in supposed humor.

Movie star and singer Harry Connick Jr. condemned on air an Australian television skit featuring a group of performers who wore blackface to impersonate the late pop star Michael Jackson and his brothers.

Connick was a judge on the Australian variety show 'Hey Hey It's Saturday,' when the blackface group 'Jackson Jive' performed 'Can You Feel It' wearing huge black wigs, blackface and one spangled glove each. The Michael Jackson impersonator wore whiteface.

In the 1950s a popular song lampooned a 'misfit' Aborigine whose 'boomerang won't come back.' Popular entertainer Rolf Harris was even less sensitive in a verse of his song 'Tie me kangaroo down sport' proclaiming that on his death one of his friends could free his captive Aborigines: 'Let my Abos go loose, they're of no further use, so let my Abos go loose.'"

Rapper Soulja Boy arrested after allegedly fleeing police - CNN.com

Rapper Soulja Boy arrested after allegedly fleeing police - CNN.com: "The 19-year-old singer was among a large group that had gathered at a home in Stockbridge, 20 miles south of Atlanta, said Henry County, Georgia, police Capt. Jason Bolton.

Way was arrested Wednesday night along with another man, Bolton said. Police said Way left jail Thursday after posting a $550 bond.
Bolton said officers responded to a complaint about a group of youths milling around the house, which appeared to be abandoned. When police arrived, they saw about 40 people. Half of them ran away, including Way, Bolton said.

The ones who remained told officers they were at the home to film a video. Way was arrested when he returned to the house to get his car, Bolton said. He said the house was dark inside and looked abandoned."

Some credit card companies rush to act before new law - CNN.com

Some credit card companies rush to act before new law - CNN.com: "Bank of America was the first company to freeze its rates. Both moves come after outrage over credit card companies jacking up rates, increasing minimum payments and raising penalty fees before the new consumer protection law -- which would bar sudden increases -- is phased in.

Rep. Betsy Markey, D-Colorado, and 17 other lawmakers sent letters to credit card banks asking them voluntarily to freeze their rates while Congress decides whether to move up the phase-in date for the new law to December.

Markey said a CNN report about Ohio couple Chuck and Jeanne Lane inspired her to act. The Lanes said they did everything right but felt bankrupted by a sudden change in their credit card payments."

Girl, 12, slugged back at Phillies slugger - CNN.com

Girl, 12, slugged back at Phillies slugger - CNN.com: "(CNN) -- Jennifer Valdivia scooped up the baseball after it sailed into the right-field stands. The 12-year-old smiled and giggled over the keepsake from her first Major League ballgame.

Jennifer Valdivia, 12, holds the record-setting baseball after it was returned this week to her.
1 of 3 She'd have to sue to get the ball back.

This is the story of a baseball and the big leagues, of a young girl, a slugger and a lawsuit. It's about another stain on America's pastime -- commercialism colliding with a kid's innocent joy.

Jennifer's big catch was the 200th home run for Ryan Howard, an All-Star for the Philadelphia Phillies. The 29-year-old first baseman achieved the milestone faster than any player in Major League history, in his 658th career game, 48 fewer games than the previous record.

The ballclub wanted to give the ball to its star player. And that's where things got complicated.

Watch Jennifer smile as ball is returned »

It was mid-July. The Phillies squared off against the Florida Marlins at Land Shark Stadium near Miami.

Jennifer was in the stands with her 69-year-old grandfather, her 17-year-old brother and one of his friends. Howard launched his history-making homer in the sixth inning, a solo shot to right field.

The sixth-grader beat her older brother to the ball. Nearby, fans said they couldn't believe a girl came away with the prize.
'I was rubbing it in my brother's face,' Jennifer later recalled. He'd been to many games before, but had never caught a homer ball. 'I got a ball and you didn't,' she teased.

Cops: Husband shot soccer mom as she chatted on webcam - CNN.com: "Meleanie Hain, 31, made national headlines last year as the mother who carried a loaded, holstered handgun to her 5-year-old daughter's soccer game.

She was found dead in her Lebanon, Pennsylvania, home along with her husband, Scott Hain, 33, on Wednesday evening, Lebanon police said.

Hain was in her kitchen talking with a friend via webcam just before her death, police said.

The friend, who police will not name, was looking away from the computer screen when he heard a shot and a scream, police said. Does 'strengthening diplomacy' warrant Nobel? Americans split - CNN.com

Does 'strengthening diplomacy' warrant Nobel? Americans split - CNN.com: "'So can anyone tell me how this man won the Nobel Peace Prize?' iRepoter Katy Brown wondered, asking whether it had more to do with him becoming the first black U.S. president. 'The people who have won the Nobel Peace Prize in the past -- I'm sorry but the legitimacy of this award has gone down the drain.'

Twenty other Americans have won Nobel peace prizes. Among them, President Theodore Roosevelt won the Nobel Prize in 1906 for negotiating a peace settlement in the Russo-Japanese War, and President Wilson for the creation of and advocacy for the League of Nations.

While the committee's decision to honor Henry Kissinger in 1973 was widely criticized by some, his peace prize was awarded for helping to end the Vietnam War."

AT&T vs. Google Voice: Sex, money, the feds, and your phone bill -- DailyFinance

AT&T vs. Google Voice: Sex, money, the feds, and your phone bill -- DailyFinance: "The FCC is set to open an investigation to determine if that's true, according to Dow Jones, and will formally notify Google of the inquest later Friday. But why all the interest in Google Voice from AT&T, Congress and now the FCC? After all, Google Voice is available by invite only, and only a relative handful of people are using it. So why is everyone in such a lather about it? And why is AT&T expending so much energy to create roadblocks to its tiny new rival?

Technically, the dispute is over FCC regulations governing how long-distance and local phone companies pay each other for traffic that passes from national to local networks. Since Congress deregulated the telecommunications industry in 1996, much of this traffic comprises extremely lucrative sex chat lines, which the national carriers wind up paying for. AT&T has never been happy about that, and it's now livid that Google Voice can avoid having to connect such calls -- thus dodging this twisted fee scheme."

Barack Obama's Nobel Win Called 'Vote of Confidence'

Obama's Nobel Win Called 'Vote of Confidence': "The president's resume of accomplishments may be short, Tønnesson said, but this year's prize is meant to 'encourage his further work for peace' and finish initiatives he started. Among them: a 'return to respect for civic and human rights,' rapprochement with the Muslim world, Iran and North Korea and withdrawing troops from Iraq. 'Then a big question is if he can find a way to be peaceful also with relation to Afghanistan.'

Obama was chosen over 204 other nominees, including 33 organizations, the highest number ever. He didn't help end a Cold War like Mikhail Gorbachev. He didn't topple apartheid like Nelson Mandela. Nor did he launch a 'green revolution' in agriculture that saved millions from famine like American plant scientist Norman Borlaug, who died last month.

What he did bring, said J. Paul Martin, director of human rights studies at Barnard College in New York, is a change from George W. Bush and a diplomacy that often saw America go it alone on the world stage.

'It's a vote for peace and a vote of confidence,' Martin said. 'The view of Obama outside the United States is not appreciated inside the United States.'"

Training partnerships open doors for #EC #East Chicago residents

Training partnerships open doors for East Chicago residents: "In today's difficult economy, Mayor George Pabey's Jobs, Education and Training (JET) Program remains a beacon of light for the East Chicago community.

According to a recent article in MONEY Magazine, today's career advice, in a word, is 'technology.' In two words, it is 'health care.'

That specifically applies for East Chicago and Northwest Indiana, known for its heavy industrial reputation, including three major steel mills, the largest oil refinery in the Midwest and as a major natural gas and electricity provider.

Residents from JET are now taking full advantage of those rising careers as part of manufacturing and industrial technology, Nisource Gas technology and CNA training partnerships offered through a collaboration between the city, Ivy Tech Community College, MittalArcelor, bp, NIPSCO and St. Catherine Hospital.

'Career opportunities in these various fields are expected to thrive over the next decade,' said Mayor Pabey. 'We will continue to make sure our community is ready for them.'"

Murder suspect's trial reset, Jada Justice #Gary #Crown Point #Hobart

Murder suspect's trial reset: "CROWN POINT After lengthy argument by defense attorneys and the state, Lake Criminal Court Judge Thomas Stefaniak Jr. on Thursday agreed to reset the trial date of 19-year-old Engelica Castillo, accused of murder in the slaying of her 2-year-old cousin, Jada Justice.

Castillo and her boyfriend, Timothy Tkachik, 24, both of Hobart, each are charged with murder, neglect of a dependent, battery and false informing in connection with the child's death in June. The toddler's body was found encased in concrete and dumped in a rural LaPorte County swamp after the couple had claimed the child was abducted from a Gary service station.

Prosecutors announced last month the state would seek a sentence of life without parole for Castillo, which in part prompted Stefaniak's reluctant decision to reschedule her trial from Dec. 7 to March 29.

Castillo's public defender, Lemuel Stigler, argued the sentencing option of life without parole could result in a penalty phase for which the defense requires additional time to prepare."

#Gary hopes to boost 2010 census count :: Lake County :: Post-Tribune

Gary hopes to boost 2010 census count :: Lake County :: Post-Tribune: "GARY -- The city is trying to raise awareness of the big count ahead.
Taking advantage of Thursday's crowd of people who came through to gain township assistance, the Gary Community Complete County Committee discussed the necessity for residents to fill out the U.S. Census questionnaire they will receive in the mail next year.

To ask about working for the 2010 Census, visit www.2010censusjobs.gov or call (866) 861-2010. Venus Cobb, a U.S. Census Bureau Team Leader for Indiana, said the 2010 questionnaire will arrive in the mail during February and March.

'On April 1, we will all be accounted for and it will result in more federal funds for our community for the next 10 years. We will allocate $300 billion (nationwide) a year for the next 10 years ... but only if we fill out those questionnaires,' she said.

Cobb said one of the reasons the committee is pushing the 2010 census campaign is because during the last U.S. Census in 2000, only 50 percent of the city's population filled out the census forms, reducing federal funds."

» Consumer Guide Excerpt: Clearwire Brings Flexible Price Plans to Broadband Services Sidecut Reports

» Consumer Guide Excerpt: Clearwire Brings Flexible Price Plans to Broadband Services Sidecut Reports: "While writing about Clearwire service pricing is an inexact science (since the company has rapidly repriced and reduced prices on options in the first six months of 2009 alone) its entry-level price for basic home WiMax service has remained steady at $20 a month. Its fastest home-service option, which offers 6 Mbps download speeds, was priced at $40 per month as of the writing of this report. An unlimited-usage mobile service option was priced at $50 per month, with promised download speeds of 4 Mbps. And a combination of unlimited home and mobile services — say a home modem and a USB card tied to the same bill — was priced at $65 per month."

Expect AT&T, Others to Make Peace with Google Voice - PC World

Expect AT&T, Others to Make Peace with Google Voice - PC World: "Ever since its launch this summer, Google Voice has presented carriers with some potentially thorny issues.

The biggest potential pitfall for carriers is that widespread adoption of Google Voice could render their networks 'dumb pipes' that don't offer users any value-added services. Google Voice was designed in part to make it easier for users to change mobile carriers without sacrificing their phone numbers and also to give users several add-on features that are not offered by carriers. For example, Google Voice can provide simultaneous ringing for both landline and wireless devices using the same phone number and it can serve as a hub for SMS as it lets users send text messages from any of their devices or even right over the Web on their computer. Net neutrality proponents such as the media advocacy group Free Press have met Google Voice with enthusiasm, as they think it could give users the ability to seamlessly switch carriers if their current carrier is too restrictive of what they can and cannot use on their mobile devices."

Clearwire needs to shake things up to save WiMax | VentureBeat

Clearwire needs to shake things up to save WiMax VentureBeat: "To be fair to Sprint/Clearwire — the only major wireless carrier in North America (or Europe) relying on WiMax — they’ve only just started rolling out mobile commercial service in earnest this year. A year from now, we will have a much better view on whether it will get traction with customers. However, based on how they are setting prices, it doesn’t appear different enough to get people to make the switch. Most if not all other carriers (Verizon Wireless, AT&T, Vodafone, T-Mobile, Telefonica, Orange, etc.) are firmly on their way from HSDPA to LTE. In addition, the equipment vendors are increasingly putting their investment dollars into developing product for LTE and backing away from WiMax. So what’s the main difference between the two? After years of development on both sides, it’s now more about positioning than technology. LTE is the next version of what most cellular operators have already deployed, and therefore it is marketed to them as backwards-compatible and the safe option to go with."

Clearwire Plans Silicon Valley 'sandbox' WiMax Network - Business Center - PC World

Clearwire Plans Silicon Valley 'sandbox' WiMax Network - Business Center - PC World: "Clearwire plans to reach 120 million U.S. residents with a national WiMax network by the end of next year, but today it has only announced commercial service in two cities. There are only about 30 devices approved to work on that network, though the company expects 100 to be available by year's end. As the first carrier to roll out the new technology on a network of this scale, Clearwire needs to encourage attractive applications for subscribers to use.

Intel has been the biggest single vendor backing WiMax and plans to bring the new system into device chipsets alongside Wi-Fi. Like Intel, Google was a major investor in the creation of the new Clearwire, which was formed last year through the merger of the original startup Clearwire and Sprint Nextel. Google will be delivering online applications as part of Clearwire's service.

But Cisco hasn't been closely associated with Clearwire, though the network equipment giant has gotten into WiMax through its acquisition of Navini Networks in 2007. At that time, the company said it saw the greatest potential for WiMax in the developing world."

When life without parole doesn't mean life

When life doesn't mean life: "A Lake Criminal Court judge sentenced the Gary resident, convicted of murder, to life in prison for his role in the death of Richard Taylor.

'I thought it meant I would be locked up for the rest of my life,' Lewis said. 'It drained all of the emotions out of me.'

He later discovered a life sentence didn't mean life behind bars, which infuriates some surviving victims and the families of slain victims.
The Indiana Parole Board rebuffed Lewis' first petitions for parole. But in 2002, the board approved his release.

Lewis' case is not unique. Hundreds of other offenders initially sent to prison for life have reappeared on public streets and neighborhoods, a Times investigation shows."

Hit the mute! Why TV commercials are so loud, and how that may change -- DailyFinance

Hit the mute! Why TV commercials are so loud, and how that may change -- DailyFinance: "Annoyingly loud TV commercials are like the weather. Everyone complains about them, but no one does anything about them. Except that lately, someone is doing something about it. Several someones, in fact. After decades of neglect, the issue is finally getting so much attention that the familiar explosion of noise signaling the start of a commercial pod could soon be a thing of the past.

The fight against excessive commercial volume has two fronts, legislative and technological. The first line of defense on the legal side is the Federal Communications Commission, which mandates that commercials can be no louder than the loudest parts of the programming they accompany."

Jack Canfield: "How Am I Doing?" The One Question That Can Change All Of Your Relationships

Jack Canfield: "How Am I Doing?" The One Question That Can Change All Of Your Relationships: "If you are not moving closer to what you want, you probably aren't doing enough asking. And you're probably not asking the single most important question that can help you achieve a higher level of success and personal fulfillment: How am I doing? This question can be asked in a variety of settings--at work, at home, with friends and colleagues, and even within yourself. The information you gather can be used to set new goals, refine your habits, and generally help you to make the improvements you know you need to make. Have faith that the person you ask will enjoy offering you truthful answers. After all, it's an opportunity to enrich that relationship and exchange very personal insights. You may even find yourself answering the same question back at the other person.

How to Ask

Some people don't enjoy the fruits of asking because they don't ask effectively. If you use vague language you will not be clearly understood. Here are five ways to ensure that your asking gets results."

Murder defendant dies

Murder defendant dies: "Gamble, of Griffith, was charged with murder last year in connection with the January shooting death of 18-year-old Michael Benain. Police said Benain had been breaking into Gamble's car, which was parked in the lot at the Mansards Apartments, just before the shooting.

Court documents filed at the time said Gamble, a resident at the complex, told Griffith police he heard the alarm in his Chevrolet Tahoe go off and saw someone in his car.

Inside Gamble's car, police found a stereo forced from the dashboard and hanging from console wiring, court records state. Police said they also found a semiautomatic handgun belonging to Gamble lying on the ground next to the car.

Benain was taken to The Community Hospital in Munster, where he was pronounced dead of gunshot wounds.
Court records show the charges against Gamble were dismissed Wednesday. He had been set for trial Dec. 14."

Gary council pulls consideration of Jackson memorials

Gary council pulls consideration of Jackson memorials: "The Gary Common Council was scheduled Tuesday evening to consider two ordinances creating The Michael Jackson Performing Arts Center Department and The Jackson Family Museum Department. However, the council withdrew both ordinances shortly after the meeting began.

Clay sponsored both ordinances, which would have established new funds and city departments. Donations to the city would have been accepted for the construction of the performing arts theater and the museum.

Council member Mary Brown moved the council rules be suspended and the ordina
nces be withdrawn from consideration.

The vote to withdraw the ordinances was unanimous. No reason was given for the move."

Filmmaker pays Gary $1,250 to film Jackson scenes :: Lake County :: Post-Tribune

Filmmaker pays $1,250 to film Jackson scenes :: Lake County :: Post-Tribune: "GARY -- Filmmaker Spike Lee paid Gary $1,250 to film scenes for a documentary outside the boyhood home of the late pop star Michael Jackson last week, a city official said.

By bringing his film crew to Gary, Lee became among the first filmmakers subjected to new permit fees approved in September by the Gary City Council.
Meanwhile Sarita Stevens, a spokeswoman for Gary Community School Corp., confirmed that the West Side Theatre Guild received $3,000 it was promised after New Line Cinema filmed its latest 'Nightmare on Elm Street' movie in Gary.

That deal was made before the new permit fees were created. Stevens said the check came from the city of Gary, though."

Paula Deen's Beauty Secrets - Hot Steam and Chanel Cream - StyleList Fashion Blog

Paula Deen's Beauty Secrets - Hot Steam and Chanel Cream - StyleList Fashion Blog: "The chef, who's known for homestyle favorites like fried chicken and pork chops, also relies on a southern staple in her beauty regimen: false eyelashes. In fact, she tells Allure that she 'wouldn't take out the trash without 'em.'

And some would consider the secret behind her smooth, youthful skin an occupational hazard -- daily steam facials! 'Still, the thing that has helped my skin more than anything is being in my kitchen, constantly looking down into deep, hot pots,' explains Deen. 'The steam and heat keep my pores clean.'

Although Deen admits to not always taking off her makeup before bed, she tries to undo the damage by using $350 Chanel cream because 'it just makes your skin feel so good.' We're making an educated guess said cream is the brand's top-of-the-line Sublimage."

Squeezing pennies: Big profits from pre-paid debit cards, payday loans -- DailyFinance

Squeezing pennies: Big profits from pre-paid debit cards, payday loans -- DailyFinance: "What is a pre-paid debit card? The New York Times reports Tuesday that people buy them at drugstores and mass merchandisers in denominations of $25, $100 and $500. Consumers pay for the cards in stores to give them access to cash for ATM withdrawals, store purchases and ecommerce. In that way, the cards help enable commerce for a wider group of consumers.

There's just one little thing: fees. Or more specifically, lots of little fees -- for example, some cards have a $9.95 activation fee; $1.75 for each ATM withdrawal; $1 per ATM balance inquiry, 50 cents per purchase, $4 for monthly maintenance, $2 for inactivity after 60 days and $1 to call customer service. Somehow I doubt Grameen Bank charges fees like that.

This sector of the banking industry is growing fast. The Times reports that in 2008, prepaid debit purchases totaled $8.7 billion -- 125 percent more than in 2007. And by 2012, consumers are expected to purchase about $119 billion worth"

Results aren't typical: FTC bringing truth to testimonials

Results aren't typical: FTC bringing truth to testimonials: "The FTC has finally updated a long-overdue guide on endorsements and testimonials to address changes in technology and advertising mediums. The new rules are designed to bring greater truth and disclosure to blogs, TV ads relying on testimonials and social media.

The updated guide has garnered the most press for its ruling that bloggers can be fined up to $11,000 if they don't disclose that they got cash or products for posting a testimonial. While most bloggers and respected word-of-mouth marketing firms have required this disclosure, the ruling and its large penalty should help consumers trust online reviews.

The second change, however, is one that more consumers will see, or should I say hear, sooner and more often.

The FTC strengthened 1980 guidelines that let weight-loss products, get-rich-quick real estate schemes and all other manner of products showcase the few individuals who experienced blockbuster success with just an asterisk to show that results aren't typical. Now, individuals must state in their testimonial that 'their results aren't typical.'"

Tyler Perry Reveals Childhood Abuse in an Open Letter - BV on Movies film 'Precious'

Tyler Perry Reveals Childhood Abuse in an Open Letter - BV on Movies: "In the letter, Perry recalled some of the most painful memories he faced as a child, and the beatings that his mother endured at the hands of his father. He also recalled an incident of what appears to be molestation at age 10 by the mother oftyler perry a childhood friend, and he also mentions being molested by a man at an unspecified age. 'I got a call not long ago from a friend. He told me that a man that I knew from church when I was a kid had died and...his family was trying to reach out to me to see if I would pay for his funeral. I quickly said no, but I wish I would have said yes. There is something so powerful to me in burying the man that molested me. I wish I would have dug the grave myself.'

He also tells of the time his mother tried to leave his abusive father when he was just a tot. 'She loaded me and my two sisters up in an old Cadillac that he had bought for her, and drove to California. When he realized she was gone, he called the police and reported the car stolen, as it was in his name. My mother was arrested, and my two sisters and I were put in the cell with her. He and my uncle drove from Louisiana to California to get us. We spent several days in jail waiting for him. He bailed her out and couldn't wait to get her into the car. He got into the back seat with us and beat her black and blue from California to Louisiana, as me and my sisters watched. Even though I was only two or three, I know that this had to have some effect on me.'"

Verizon removes gloves, begins 'There's a map for that' anti-AT&T ad campaign (video)

Verizon removes gloves, begins 'There's a map for that' anti-AT&T ad campaign (video): "Ouch. If you've been waiting for another flare up in the old carrier wars, here you have it. Turning Apple's 'there's an app for that' slogan on its ear, Verizon has introduced a campaign touting its network coverage. The ads -- which highlight the company's new tongue-in-cheek 'there's a map for that' catchphrase against tuneful, chirpy music -- also boast that Verizon's 3G blanket is a whopping five times the size of AT&T's. Does this do anything to dispel the idea that Verizon and Apple may be getting together for that phantom tablet? Who knows, but it's fun to watch the fireworks. Check out the full commercial after the break."

Gary airport has fed grant for new airlines

Gary airport has fed grant for new airlines: "Gary/Chicago International Airport wants to use an $800,000 federal grant to fund flights to major aviation hubs such as Denver International and Dulles International in Washington, D.C.

The federal grant would be the first source of funding for the service, and the airport also would look for support from area businesses, Airport Director Chris Curry said. It also could seek funding from the Northwest Indiana Regional Development Authority or the state.

Under an arrangement being discussed with Houston-based ExpressJet, the Gary airport would guarantee the airline one year of payments to operate the service. Ticket fares collected would be knocked off the total price of the service, which could be up to $5 million for flying for one year to one city."

CNET reports that researchers at security firm Finjan have discovered a new kind of Trojan horse that doesn't just steal your bank log-in information, but steals money from your account while you're logged in.

Finjan chief technology officer Yuval Ben-Itzhak told CNET that the Trojan, called URLZone, can calculate how much money to withdraw from an account based on how much is available. And it will do it in such a way where a fake balance will be displayed.

'It's a next generation bank Trojan,' Ben-Itzhak said. 'This is part of a new trend of more sophisticated Trojans designed to evade antifraud systems.'"

Even as Layoffs Persist, Some Good Jobs Go Begging

Click to the Read the Rest of Story...Even as Layoffs Persist, Some Good Jobs Go Begging: "With about 15 million people looking for work, why are so many good jobs going unfilled?
Economists say it's due to a mismatch between available work and people qualified to do it.

So, even as the unemployment rate nears 10 percent, some employers can't find qualified people for good-paying career jobs.

Analysts say it's become especially hard to find accountants, health care workers, software sales representatives, physical therapists and electrical engineers.

An expert with Moody's Economy.com says the unemployed may need to find more than just a new company -- they may need to find a new industry. As she puts it, a 50-year-old who's been screwing bolts into car panels isn't going to be able to become a health-care administrator overnight"
